Application Terms of Service

1. Introduction

By inviting or using you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree (or cannot comply with), then you may not continue or start using the application. These Terms may be amended at any time, and changes will be reflected here with the most recent modification date down below this page.

1.1. Definitions

  • "We," "us," "our": Refers to the LAPD Central application developers/maintainers.

  • "You," "User": Refers to the individuals or entities accessing or using the application.

  • "The/this application": Refers to LAPD Central, including all features, services, and hosted instances.


2. Eligibility

To use the application, you must be at least 13 years old and legally capable of agreeing to these Terms.


3. License and Open Source

The code for the LAPD Central application is publicly available on GitHub and is licensed under the MIT License. You are free to use the code under the terms of the MIT License. However, self-hosted instances of the codebase are subject to the MIT License and their maintainers’ own policies, not these Terms.


4. User Conduct

a. Permitted Use

You agree to use the Application only for its intended purposes and in compliance with:

While we implement multiple safeguards (including input validation, Discord's Auto-Mod integration, restricting attachments, and other ones), you must NOT use the Application to transmit:

  • Harmful or dangerous content

  • False or misleading information

  • Content that violates others' privacy

  • Violent or graphically disturbing material

  • Harassing, threatening, or bullying material

  • Any content that violates Discord's guidelines

c. Content Disclaimer

We do not:

  • Prescreen or monitor all user-provided content.

  • Assume responsibility for damages caused by other users' content.

  • Guarantee the accuracy, safety, or legality of content sent via the Application.

d. Reporting Abuse

Please immediately report any violations to:

  • Discord's Trust & Safety team:

    1. Identify the original sender/author of the problematic content (not the bot's message)

    2. Right-click their usernameReport → Follow Discord's reporting process

    3. Additionally notify our us at with available contact methods (such as the support server or DMs) with evidence and context of the violation.

  • Our moderation or development team on the support server or by DMs.


5. Data and Privacy

Your data is collected and used according to our Privacy Policy. By using the application, you consent to the collection and handling of your data as described.


6. Liability Limitation

a. User-Provided Content

While we implement technical safeguards (as described in Section 4), you acknowledge that:

  • The Application may display user-provided images hosted on Discord, but does not independently store, process, or alter them beyond Discord’s native embedding system,

  • We cannot prevent all potentially harmful or unwanted content,

  • Other users may find ways to bypass our filters, and

  • You use the Application at your own risk.

b. Limitation of Liability

We will take reasonable steps to prevent any such damages from occurring. However, to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, or goodwill,

  • Damages caused by user-generated content,

  • Any losses from content moderation decisions,

  • Third-party content (including Discord or Roblox API data), or

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

c. Safeguard Measures

We currently employ these protective measures:

  • Automatic filtering of web links,

  • Input validation for potentially harmful content,

  • Integration with Discord's auto-mod system (server/guild settings based), and

  • Restricting attachments to those uploaded directly to Discord.


7. Third-Party Services

The application may interact with third-party services (such as Roblox's API). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of these third-party services. Your use of such services is subject to their terms and policies, not ours.


8. Modifications and Termination

  • You may terminate use by removing the Application from your server.

  • We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Application or your access:

    • Without notice, for violations, legal compliance, violation of these Terms, or operational needs.

    • With notice for non-critical changes (where feasible).
